End-Table Lamp - Alpha
Inspired by the works of the DeStijl movement, this lamp represents a revival of one of my earliest design projects.
The lamp is formed from a series of vertical planes clustered about a central light source. The planes are laid out in a pin-wheel arrangement but don't quite meet, leaving vertical slots through which the light shines.
The vertical planes are housed into the base plane, and are connected above by penetrating timber sections.
The edges of the planes & the penetrating sections are coloured to pick out the detail against the white background of the planes.
